A Taste Of Blue Back Square 2019
(Opinion-blog)
The 4th annual Taste of Blue Back Square event in West Harford is a summer event that gathers people from all over Connecticut. The event was enjoyable, with live music, people displaying good vibes, arts and paintings, a VIP zone, a cash bar, and the star of the event was the delicious samples of food representing different countries.
As soon as I arrived at the event, the organizers welcomed me with a smile. They lead me to Tom Hickey, the president of WeHa.com marketing agency who was in charge of the event. I loved the way he approached me with a big smile and friendly attention. I was blandished that he was interested in talking with me, a humble blogger. We talked about how this event takes place yearly, organizers, partners, and the community. I was happy to see people from different cultural backgrounds coming together with their families and enjoying a good time. You can watch the video of the interview on Facebook (This event was initially for my blog, but I end up posting it on my employer’s Facebook page) https://www.facebook.com/maricarmen.cajahuaringa.5
I walked through the place and talked to locals about their experience on the festive occasion. From Latinos to English speaking people, they all said, they loved the vibe, the food, the music, and the good times they were having with their family and friends. Some of them even came with their furry friends.
All dishes looked and tasted heavenly, but my favorites were the Artisan tomatillo gazpacho, avocado sorbet, and breakfast radish from Artisan West Hartford. Oh goodness! It was genuinely refreshing! walking down the next tent, I tried the Truffle popcorn and tuna tartare, from Vinted Wine Bar & Kitchen, and the Chicken Souvlaki, pita, and tzatziki, from Balos Restaurant, to end up eating dessert from the Cheese Cake Factory, and a sweet cocktail by Two Pour Guys (cash bar)
I learned that part of the proceeds of the event will go to help Connecticut’s Children Hospital. Kuddos for the generosity! I cannot thank enough to the West Hartford Magazine, for letting me know about the updates on the event, Mr. Tom Hickey for his kind attention, the West Hartford restaurants for their delectable food, to my friend Alejandro Estrada, for tagging along, and most importantly, to the community; what would I do without your kind support.
