Commemorating the eighteenth anniversary of 9/11

Eighteen years have passed since the twin towers attacked, and the United States revived with such sorrow that day. More than 2,997 people were killed and thousands injured on September 11, 2001, at the hands of Al-Qaeda. First responders and volunteers gave their lives to save thousands of New Yorkers who observed traumatized such as a horrible act.

President Donald Trump began the day with a commemorative tribute to the victims in Arlington, VA accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, and different political figures.

In Connecticut, flags fly at half-mast, and cities across the state honored the lost lives, by having a minute of silence. Sixty-five Connecticut residents lost their lives on that day.

Despite today's remembrance, a report from the SITE Intelligence group stated that current Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, appeared in a video this morning, urging a new attack on the United States. However, President Donald Trump responded, "If anyone dares to strike our land, we will respond with the full measure of American power and the iron will of the American spirit and that spirit is unbreakable."
